Sunday's report

I spent the day at Duke again, and April is still critical but stable. Her bp is stable now, but her chest is still open because the heart's still a little too big. They started her on diuretics today to rid some of the fluid, so the heart can settle in it's space. (I surely hope none of the medical professionals treating Ape ever read this! They'd croak at my "Heart Transplants for Dummies" descriptions!) But that's the jist of it as I comprehend it all. :)

April's aunt/uncle/brother/sister-in-law/nephew and cousin all left today to go back to TN. They took Grace with them for 3 or 4 days, which is both a good thing and a bad thing. It's good for Darrell and Jean to be able to focus on April, but it was hard for them to send her at the same time.

So the tenative plan is to try Tuesday to close April's chest. But as you can imagine, this can change in the blink of an eye. Our job remains the same regardless. To pray.

Jeanie
